Ram Charan opens on how Chiranjeevi kept him away from stardom and why

Ram Charan frequently reminisced about his dad, iconic Megastar Chiranjeevi. In one of his older interviews, he explained how he and his siblings remained unaware of their superstar father's fame when they were growing up.

Recalling his childhood spent in a setting cut off from the dazzle of his father's job, speaking to Sam Fragoso on the Talk Easy podcast, Ram Charan stressed that Chiranjeevi never maintained any overlap of his profession in their domestic sphere.

Recalling an anecdote, Ram stated, "A popular Indian painter drew a portrait of him (Chiranjeevi), and even that never came into our home because he did not wish the impact of his art to reach our home."

Ram went on to clarify that his father was well aware of the dangers involved in the world of films, which included sheer glamour and tempting opportunities. So that his children would not be complacent with his superstardom, Chiranjeevi ensured they were kept in the dark about his superstar status.

He believed it was a very glamorous, tempting profession, and he wanted us to be as normal as possible. He did not want us to realize that we had a superstar father and assume everything would be handed to us on a platter," said Ram Charan.

In the latter part, Game Changer's actor attributed his success to the protected and clean upbringing of his father. He emphasized that today, he can manage to pay his EMIs and is well-off in life because of the good values instilled in him by his father.

In yet another interview with Times Now, Ram Charan remembered approaching his father after his first film. To his astonishment, Chiranjeevi reminded him that he had nothing particular to advise him. Rather, he urged his son to pave his way and fashion an indelible journey based on his worth.

Upcoming Projects

On the professional front, Ram Charan has an interesting slate with RC 16 and RC 17. Though Game Changer did not perform as expected everybody now has their eyes on RC 16, which has huge hopes from the audience.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the movie is likely to offer something new to the audience. At the same time, RC 17 is said to be under Sukumar's direction but the official confirmation is yet to arrive.
