Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni are not just the most adored power couple in Tollywood, but they are also real-life fairy tales. Upasana is a vibrant businesswoman and philanthropist, while Ram is one of the biggest stars in South cinema.

Beyond their professional achievements, however, what really distinguishes their relationship is their enduring love, steadfast support, and long-standing friendship.

The journey of Ram and Upasana started while they were in college, long before they were in the limelight. What began as a lighthearted friendship, complete with goofy arguments and similar goals, developed into something significant.

"We were friends for a very long time – since college actually," Upasana recalled in one of her interviews.

It was a pleasant change, and love just happened. We were drawn to each other because we both understood how important it was to meet our families' expectations of us.

Everything was built on their friendship. After college, they parted ways, but life had other ideas. Ram became acutely aware of how much he missed Upasana while filming Magadheera, the movie that would define his career.

"The truth is that even though we had known each other for a long time, we only began dating after the release of Magadheera," he said. I realized that the girl I had been looking for was actually right there with me the entire time.

Families Accept and the Fairytale Begins When Ram and Upasana's families learned of their relationship, they were greeted with blessings rather than raised eyebrows.

In a celebration full of love, laughter, and familial warmth, they got engaged on December 11, 2011 in Hyderabad.

The couple married in a traditional South Indian ceremony that was the talk of the town just six months later, on June 14, 2012.

It was a union that united two well-known families in a celebration of culture and love: the Kamineni clan and the Konidelas.

The couple had to make their fair share of adjustments after getting married. Even though Upasana initially struggled to deal with Ram's fame, she handled his world with poise and fortitude. Their relationship only grew stronger with time.

Ram, who currently resides in an opulent house in Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills, once shared what keeps their marriage strong: "It still feels like we are friends." She really looks after me. She recalls all of my habits, big and small. Which man won't be overwhelmed by such love?

Ram and Upasana announced with joy that they were expecting their first child after ten years of blissful marriage. Both their families and fans were thrilled by the moment. It's interesting to note that the announcement coincided with Ram commemorating a worldwide achievement—the Oscar victory of RRR's classic song Naatu Naatu, which was a first for Indian cinema.
