Singer and rapper Queen Latifah is gearing up for her upcoming series The Equaliser's Season 5 finale. However, she has recently announced that the series has been cancelled and the upcoming finale will serve as the last episode of the series.
Queen Latifah took to her Instagram and shared a photo of herself from the series to announce the news. In the photo, she can be seen with a gun pointing at the camera. The photo was accompanied by the text, “I'm the one you call when you can't call 911."
However, she penned an emotional message while bidding adieu to her series. She also thanked fans for their love and support. She wrote, “Stepping into a kick-ass role like Robyn was everything I hoped it would be.”
Latifah added, "Shakim [Compere] and I at Flavor Unit are always excited to bring these kinds of roles and projects to life—and then we just hope you love them as much as we do. The Equalizer blew past every dream we had for it, and having the opportunity to do this for five seasons honestly feels surreal.”
She expressed gratitude and continued, “Thank you to our amazing cast, crew, and producers and writers! And I can’t say enough about the FANS!Y’all have been so loyal, so loud, and so ride-or-die—and that’s exactly why we keep doing this. We can’t thank you enough. It means the world to us."
However, she also teased that she would soon return with another exciting project and wrote, “And don’t worry—I’ll be back kicking ass in something new real soon. Can’t wait to share it with you."
Queen Latifah also served as an executive producer while starring in the show. The fifth season finale of The Equalizer, which serves as the series finale, will debut on May 4 on CBS.
