The screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, at Mumbai's Gaiety Galaxy Theatre was abruptly halted on December 5 due to a mysterious incident involving a spray that caused physical discomfort among viewers. The situation led to complaints of coughing, throat irritation, and even vomiting, prompting the theatre authorities to pause the screening for approximately 15-20 minutes.

The incident occurred after the intermission during the film's screening. Patrons began experiencing distressing symptoms, which led to confusion and concern within the theatre. The situation was serious enough for the management to halt the show, and the authorities were quickly informed about the unusual occurrence. According to a report by the news agency ANI, the screening was eventually resumed once the situation was brought under control and the affected individuals had recovered.

Mumbai police have launched an investigation into the matter. Sources close to the case revealed that the police are looking into the nature of the spray used inside the theatre.

"The spray used inside the theatre is suspected to have been meant for open spaces, which might have caused the discomfort," one of the sources told a portal. This suggests that a substance, likely intended for outdoor use, might have inadvertently caused harm when applied in the enclosed space of the cinema.

At this stage, authorities are trying to identify the substance, and further details about the spray’s origin and its intended purpose remain unclear. The police are examining security footage and interviewing witnesses to gather more information about the mysterious incident.

Despite this incident, the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule has made an enormous impact at the box office. Directed by Sukumar, the film opened to a record-breaking response, earning a massive Rs 175 crore nett on its first day in India. The Hindi version of the film alone grossed over Rs 67 crore, dethroning Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and setting a new benchmark in the Indian film industry. The success of Pushpa 2 highlights the growing popularity of Allu Arjun's films, especially in the Hindi-speaking regions.

The film features an impressive cast, including Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, and is the sequel to the highly successful Pushpa: The Rise. The storyline continues the intense drama, action, and power struggles that captivated audiences in the first film, with fans eagerly awaiting the developments in the saga.

While the mystery of the spray incident still looms, it hasn’t overshadowed the film’s success at the box office. As police continue their investigation, moviegoers are advised to stay vigilant while enjoying their screenings. Meanwhile, Pushpa 2 continues to break records and make history in Indian cinema, proving that even unexpected disruptions can't dampen its colossal popularity.
