After the massive success of Animal, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is all set to collaborate with Prabhas for his next ambitious project titled Spirit. Touted as a high-octane, cop-based action thriller, Spirit is currently in the final stages of scripting. Vanga, known for his intense, genre-defying narratives, has reportedly spent over six months meticulously developing the screenplay, indicating that fans can expect another groundbreaking cinematic experience.

According to Pinkvilla, the casting process has been running parallel to the writing phase. “With Vanga, you can expect a genre-breaking film, and he spent over 6 months developing the story into a screenplay. The casting has been going on in tandem, and with most of the things now falling into place, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is all set to take Spirit with Prabhas on floor from September/October 2025,” a source close to the development revealed.

The filmmaker has requested Prabhas to adopt a leaner physique for the role, envisioning a character-driven performance that emphasizes raw physicality. “Sandeep Reddy Vanga wants to shoot Spirit in a particular way and has requested Prabhas to acquire a lean physique. The idea is to ensure that most of the stunts in Spirit are performed by Prabhas, and the Rebel Star is equally excited to take up the challenge,” the source added.

Before stepping into Spirit, Prabhas is focusing on wrapping up two of his other major films—The Raja Saab and Fauji. Once these are completed, the actor is expected to fully commit to Vanga’s vision, including the physical transformation required for the role.

The team is also reportedly scouting for international actors from the US and Korea to join the ensemble cast, adding a global flavor to the project. However, no official confirmations have been made yet regarding the same.

Spirit is aiming for a grand theatrical release in 2027. Once the film wraps production, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is expected to begin work on Animal Park, the much-awaited sequel to Animal, with Ranbir Kapoor returning in the lead.
