Parul Gulati opts for a quirky outfit of her Cannes debut

Actress and entrepreneur Parul Gulati made her highly anticipated red carpet debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival for the world premiere of Ari Aster’s directorial film Eddington. However, Parul, who owns a hair extensions brand, notably turned heads in the most unique and quirky outfit.

She made a stylish appearance in a custom-made dress. Her outfit was notably crafted entirely out of hair, conceptualised by herself. Designed by celebrated stylist and designer Mohit Rai and Riddhi Bansal, the outfit notably took over a month to bring to life.

The team of 12 skilled artisans were involved in creating her outfit that took long, painstaking hours of detailed craftsmanship. She completed her look with shimmery earrings and black heels. She tied her hair in a bun.

While talking about her look to IANS, Parul admitted that she wanted to reflect individuality and risk-taking at the Cannes 2025 red carpet.

The actress said, “I wanted my red carpet look to reflect that same spirit of individuality and risk-taking. Wearing an outfit made entirely out of human hair wasn’t just about pushing fashion boundaries—it was a homage to my journey, to every woman who’s ever embraced her uniqueness, and to the idea that our roots—quite literally—can be our biggest strength.”

She added, “To represent both my creative and entrepreneurial side at a platform as iconic as Cannes is a moment I’ll never forget.”

She attended the premiere of the film Eddington, which features global icons Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, Pedro Pascal and Austin Butler. The film notably earned praise and a standing ovation at the film festival.

Just hours before making the big debut, she attended a star-studded Nespresso party on the French Riviera. She made a stylish appearance at the soirée in a striking halter-neck black sheer netted gown by Rose Room, paired with statement jewellery from Karishma Joolry.
