Parag Tyagi clarifies rumours about Shefali Jariwala's death

Kaanta Laga actress Shefali Jariwala died at the age of 42 in June this year, leaving her fans and actor husband, Parag Tyagi, devastated. Following her death, several reports suggested that she may have died from taking anti-ageing medication on an empty stomach.

However, Parag has now come forward to address the swirling rumours, calling the speculations “half-baked information.”

In a podcast on his YouTube channel, Shefali Parag Tyagi, Parag talked about losing Shefali and answered the rumours about what led to her death.

Parag said, “This is half-baked information. I want to ask, which of these were anti-ageing medicines? Shefali didn’t want to take multivitamins daily as she would forget them, so she took them through IV drip once a month.”

He elaborated, “These included multivitamin, Vitamin C, collagen, and glutathione, which is one of the best antioxidants.”

Parag also addressed the claims that Shefali was fasting on the day of her death.

Parag shared, “She did fast that day, but she had food after performing pooja, then slept, and ate again later. It wasn’t like she didn’t eat at all.”

Regarding beauty and health, Parag emphasised that Shefali relied on self-care and discipline rather than anti-ageing procedures. He claimed that although she was mindful of her diet, she never went without food. She would claim to lead a balanced life by indulging in Chinese food or ice cream on Sundays.

The TV actor also requested people to stop spreading misinformation. He shared, “I don’t know where this fasting story came from. People just picked it up and spread it. I request everyone to find the truth before talking.”

Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital after Parag found her on the floor. She was pronounced dead in the hospital.

The reports suggested that she died following cardiac arrest; however, the cause of death has not been officially revealed. Police stated that the cause of death was "reserved" following the autopsy.

Shefali was well-known for her role in the remix song Kaanta Laga. She appeared on television reality shows such as Bigg Boss 13 and Nach Baliye during her career.
