Academy Award nominee Harrison Ford, renowned for his iconic roles, was expected to present an award at the 2025 Oscars. However, the actor has dropped out of his presenting role due to a health diagnosis.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Harrison is diagnosed with shingles. The actor withdrew from his presenter duties after his health got worse on February 28. Following the diagnosis, the reports have revealed that the actor is “doing OK” physically.
For the unaware, Shingles is an infection that leads to a painful rash. It is not life-threatening and is caused by the same virus as chickenpox, known as varicella-zoster virus.
Harrison was expected to join the star-studded list of presenters at the upcoming ceremony, which includes, Dave Bautista, Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, Samuel L. Jackson, Margaret Qualley, Alba Rohrwacher, Zoe Saldaña and Rachel Zegler.
Conan O'Brien is set to host the Oscars ceremony, which will air live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, March 2, at 7 pm ET on ABC and Hulu.
Just days before his diagnosis, Harrison Ford attended the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards, where he took part in a lighthearted skit with his Shrinking co-star Jessica Williams. The two shared a humorous moment on stage when Williams playfully scolded Ford for snacking at an awkward time, jokingly telling him to turn away and saying "don't look!"
Harrison Ford’s career spans around six decades, with the actor starring in some of the most iconic roles. He was last seen in Captain America: Brave New World and has a line-up of new projects. The veteran actor was recently busy in filming 1923 Season 2. He will be next seen in Thunderbolts.
