Nakuul Mehta and Jankee Parekh announce second pregnancy

Television actor and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain fame Nakuul Mehta and his wife, singer and voice artist Jankee Parekh Mehta, are preparing to welcome their second child.

Through a sweet social media post, the adored couple—who are already parents to their son Sufi Mehta—shared the wonderful news with their fans. A few gorgeous maternity pictures of the three-member family, documenting a priceless new phase in their lives, were included with the announcement.

The caption of their post read, "The boy is ready for additional responsibility. So are we. We are accepting blessings, again" The photos exuded warmth and joy, with little Sufi beaming with excitement, embracing the idea of becoming an older sibling.

Married since 2012, Nakuul and Jankee continue to serve as a public role model for a solid and encouraging partnership. Since the birth of Sufi in 2021, the actor has been open about the joys and difficulties of fatherhood.

In a 2023 interview with Zoom, Nakuul opened up about balancing his professional life with the responsibilities of being a present parent. "I don't have a better answer, because it is hard. As a parent who's working and who's chosen to sort of go back to work, it is hard because you don't get as much time with your toddler and the initial years of a crucial relationship—because the connection is formed when time is exchanged. So it's been hard; it's been hard not to."

He further revealed that he had taken a break from work after his recent television projects wrapped up. "I'm on a bit of a sabbatical after my shows have gotten over, I'm using this to sort of find connection and build, like, long-lasting bonds with my son," he said. "And as most people think of it, the child is two and a half years old. For me, as a father of a two-and-a-half-year-old, right? So I'm also learning and growing."

Discussing the strength of his marriage with Jankee, Nakuul added: "I don't think there's too much of a secret ingredient. I think the first is respect for each other's lives. The second is being extremely supportive of each other's trajectory and growth... And third is remembering the fact that you have a larger vision, which is that you want to grow and evolve together as a unit."

With the arrival of their second child, the Mehtas are undoubtedly embarking on yet another wonderful stage of their family's existence, one that is full of love, education, and camaraderie.
