BLACKPINK's Lisa has sent waves of excitement through the fan community with the announcement of her second solo release, ROCKSTAR, slated for June 27. Nearly two years after her solo debut, Lisa’s latest endeavour marks a pivotal moment in her musical journey. The thrilling news was shared on June 18, and just two days later, on June 20, Lisa heightened anticipation by revealing the first concept photo for the track.

Lisa delighted fans by sharing a new animatic-themed concept photo for ROCKSTAR. In this image, Lisa radiates a serene yet playful and contemplative vibe, perfectly harmonising with the animated backdrop. She is depicted wearing dramatic glasses, striking earrings, and a neckpiece that accentuates her ethereal presence. Each cinematic shot amplifies the excitement surrounding the upcoming single.

The buzz around Lisa's return started on June 13 when she teased her comeback with a captivating TikTok video. In the clip, Lisa showcased her confidence in a chic outfit against a beautiful seaside background. Set to an infectious beat, the teaser featured her mouthing the lyrics, "Baby, I'm a rockstar," hinting at a dynamic and high-energy performance. This teaser has significantly heightened the anticipation among BLINKs and Lilies worldwide, who are eagerly awaiting her solo comeback.

Her album set records, becoming the first by a South Korean female artist to sell 736,000 copies in its debut week. Additionally, the music video for the lead single became the most-viewed by a solo artist on YouTube within 24 hours.

Lalisa Manobal, known professionally as Lisa, is a rapper, singer, and dancer originally from Buri Ram, Thailand. She is the sole Thai member of YG Entertainment's South Korean girl group BLACKPINK. Lisa began dancing at the age of four and participated in numerous dance competitions throughout her childhood. She was the only candidate to pass YG's Thailand auditions in 2010 and was part of the dance crew We Zaa Cool alongside GOT7's BamBam. She moved to Korea at fourteen to pursue her dream.

In August 2016, Lisa debuted as one of the four members of BLACKPINK, becoming the first non-ethnically Korean artist to debut under YG Entertainment. She released her debut single album LALISA on September 10, 2021, and won Best KPOP at MTV's VMAs in 2022. In 2024, Lisa launched her own artist management company, LLOUD. While YG Entertainment continues to manage her group activities with BLACKPINK, LLOUD will handle her solo projects.
