Mukesh Khanna had recently blamed Shatrughan Sinha for not educating Sonakshi about the Ramayana.

Sonakshi Sinha recently responded to Mukesh Khanna's remarks, where he blamed her father, Shatrughan Sinha, for her inability to answer a Ramayana-related question on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) in 2019. In the latest interview with News9, Mukesh Khanna clarified that his comment was not made with any wrong intent and expressed no ill will toward Sonakshi.

Talking to News9, Mukesh addressed the issue and said, "I am surprised she took so much time to react. I knew I was antagonising her by taking her name from that incident in the famous Kaun Banega Crorepati show. But I had no malicious intention to malign her or her father who is my senior and I have a very cordial relationship with him.”

Mukesh Khanna further explained that he used Sonakshi Sinha's example to convey a lesson to the younger generation, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and preparedness. “My intention was to react to today’s generation, which is called Genz by elders, which has become slaves to today’s Google world and mobile phones. Their knowledge is limited to Wikipedia and social interactions on YouTube. And here I had a Hi Fi case in front of me of her which I could use to teach others. Fathers, sons, daughters," he stated.

He concluded by expressing that the vast and rich knowledge preserved in India's culture, Sanskriti, and history is something every young person today should be aware of and take pride in.

In a previous interview with Siddharth Kannan, Mukesh Khanna had blamed Shatrughan Sinha for not educating Sonakshi about the Ramayana, referencing a moment from Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 11 where Sonakshi, while participating as a guest, was unable to answer a question related to the Ramayana.

In response, Sonakshi took to Instagram to fire back at Mukesh Khanna, criticizing him for questioning her upbringing.

Shatrughan Sinha also responded to Mukesh Khanna's comment in an interview, although he did not mention him by name. Shatrughan questioned the authority of the individual who had criticized Sonakshi for not answering a question about the Ramayana, expressing his displeasure. He remarked that it was unclear what qualified this person to be an expert on the Ramayana and wondered who had given him the role of "guardian" of the Hindu religion.
