Kartik Aaryan is in talks to play Prem in Sooraj Barjatya's next: Report

Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan, who will be soon seen as a sportsman in Kabir Khan's 'Chandu Champion', is reportedly in talks with director Sooraj Barjatya for his next film.

Director Sooraj Barjatya gave cinema lovers the quintessential Prem played by Salman Khan in many of his films, including 'Maine Pyar Kiya', 'Hum Aapke Hai Koun!,' and 'Hum Saath Saath Hain,' to name a few.

Now reports are that for his next film, 'Prem Ki Shaadi', the ace director is talking with Bollywood's latest heartthrob, Kartik Aaryan. It is after Sooraj's conversation with Salman Khan to work in 'Prem Ki Shaadi' fizzled out after the actor said he was not looking to work as a romantic lead.

According to Pinkvilla, Sooraj Barjatya is going to soon start working on the cast for his next venture, a drama on nuclear families, which are the norm right now. And Sooraj is already in talks with Kartik about the same.

Sooraj Barjatya's last film, 'Uunchai', was the story of four aging friends who desire to go on a trek to Mt. Everest base camp. It was led by Amitabh Bachchan, and joining him were Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongapa, Sarika, and Boman Irani. The movie was a surprise hit and was loved by many senior citizens as well.

“Sooraj Barjatya is on the lookout for an actor who brings a sense of innocence to the screen and feels that Kartik has it in him to be the new-age on-screen Prem," said a source to Pinkvilla.

The source further said that “Kartik has heard the idea and is interested in doing the film."

Kartik will be seen in Chandu Champion, which is slated to release on June 14.

Kartik is also shooting for 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' which is slated to release on Diwali.
