Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who had recently given up his Canadian citizenship, was an early voter at the polling booth in Mumbai.
The actor was dressed in jeans and olive green shirt with his hair combed neatly as he arrived to cast his vote in the early hours.
He also obliged fans and fellow voters with pictures as he stepped out after exercising his franchise.

Jahnvi Kapoor, who is busy with the promotions of her soon-to-release 'Mr & Mrs Mahi', came out to vote early in the day.
She was seen dressed in an ethnic anarkali suit and she urged all the citizens: "Please come out and vote."

Her Mr & Mrs Mahi co-star Rajkummar Rao was also seen at a polling booth to cast his vote. He showed his index finger.
Rajkummar told the waiting reporters that though he was shooting outside Mumbai but he made sure to be in the city to exercise his franchise as it is a very big responsibility.
"It is a huge responsibility. I was shooting elsewhere but I took a late night flight and reached Mumbai to cast my vote. I am going back then Jahnvi is also waiting as we have to leave for Benaras to promote 'Mr & Mrs Mahi.' We have a flight to catch and we have to resume our shoots." The biggest thing we can do is to make people aware and the importance of voting. I am very happy and thrilled that Election Commission chose me to be the Ntional icon. I understand it is our moral duty and responsibility. So I request and appeal to all of you to please come out and cast your vote," Rajkummar Rao told the reporters. The actor was seen in T shirt, jeans and baseball cap.

Farhan Akhtar arrived to the polling booth with his mother Honey Irani and sister-director Zoya Akhtar to cast their votes. They flashed their inked fingers to the media outside.
