Tom Cruise starrer Mission Impossible 8 is performing phenomenally at the box office as it has already garnered Rs 16.50 crore India net on the second day after its release in India.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning released in India on May 17, an entire week ahead of its premiere in the US on May 23.

According to Sacnilk, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning maintained its strong performance on Day 2, which fell on a Sunday, earning an impressive Rs 16.50 crore across all languages. The breakdown includes Rs 11 crore from the English version, Rs 4.5 crore from the Hindi version, Rs 0.65 crore from the Telugu version, and Rs 0.35 crore from the Tamil version.

The film continued to draw solid crowds, especially in English 2D screenings, which recorded high occupancy rates throughout the day—28.93% in morning shows, 49.53% in the afternoon, peaking at 51.70% in the evening, and settling at 37.18% by night.

Despite not being as popular as the English version, the Hindi version had a respectable audience, with occupancy rates of 13.36% in the morning, 31.22% in the afternoon, 33.06% in the evening, and 23.48% at night. The movie's increasing word-of-mouth and consistent regional audience interest are reflected in the impressive Day 2 box office results.

The Final Reckoning continues the high-stakes story of Tom Cruise's character Ethan Hunt and his IMF team shortly after the events of Dead Reckoning. This time, they are in a race against time to stop "The Entity," a rogue artificial intelligence, from being taken over by the dangerous Gabriel Martinelli (Esai Morales).

Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Angela Bassett, Pom Klementieff, and Henry Czerny are among the well-known characters who return in the movie for yet another action-packed mission.

A part of Money Control's review of Mission Impossible- The Final Reckoning read, "The story picks up some pace only in the second half, and it's here that the film momentarily finds its footing with two major action sequences. The first sees Ethan Hunt diving into the wreckage of a submarine to retrieve the Podkova (the gadget that has the source code), while the second — a high-octane aerial sequence involving the retrieval of a “poison pill” device — offers a glimpse of the tension and spectacle the franchise is known for."
