The untimely death of Friends star Matthew Perry in October 2023 shocked fans across the globe. Perry, best known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing, was found dead at his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. His cause of death was ruled as accidental drowning brought on by the acute effects of ketamine use. Since then, investigations into how the actor obtained the fatal drug have led to multiple arrests and ongoing court proceedings.

In a major development, Jasveen Sangha, widely referred to as the “Ketamine Queen,” has pleaded guilty to supplying the lethal dose that contributed to Perry’s death. The 42-year-old admitted in a U.S. federal court on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, that she illegally provided ketamine through co-defendant Erik Fleming, which ultimately reached Perry.

Sangha pleaded guilty to five federal charges, including distribution of controlled substances. Her trial had originally been scheduled to begin later this month, but she reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in August. Under federal law, she faces up to 65 years in prison. However, prosecutors have indicated they will seek a sentence shorter than the maximum.

During the court hearing, Perry’s mother Suzanne and stepfather were present as Sangha answered questions from the judge. When asked whether she knew the drugs she provided Fleming would end up with Perry, Sangha replied: “There was no way I could tell 100 per cent. I didn’t know if all of [the vials] or some of them.”

Sangha is not the only one facing legal consequences. Four other individuals connected to Perry’s death have also pleaded guilty to related charges and are currently awaiting sentencing. Collectively, the group is accused of supplying Perry with multiple doses of ketamine in the months leading up to his tragic passing.

Matthew Perry’s death brought renewed attention to issues of substance abuse and the dangers of unregulated drug distribution. Beyond his struggles, Perry remains celebrated for his career. He starred in television classics like Friends, The John Larroquette Show, and Scrubs, and appeared in films such as Three to Tango, 17 Again, and The Ron Clark Story.
