Marathi actress Pooja Sawant celebrated her first Makar Sankranti after marriage in Australia. She shared a video on Instagram showing glimpses of her Makar Sankranti celebration. Pooja’s parents, brother, and sister are also in Australia, and they celebrated the festival together with Pooja and her husband, Siddhesh Chavan.
In the video, Pooja and Siddhesh are seen wearing traditional black-coloured outfits for the festival. Pooja is wearing a black Paithani saree, while Siddhesh is dressed in a black kurta. Pooja has also adorned traditional jewelry, including "Halwa jewellery" (Sugar ornaments). Both of them are seen performing a prayer in the video.
Pooja’s mother blesses her and Siddhesh by doing Aarti and Siddhesh touches his mother-in-law’s feet to seek blessings. Later, Pooja’s parents are seen smiling and laughing with their daughter and son-in-law.
Pooja’s sister, Ruchira, also appears in the video. Afterward, Pooja and Siddhesh do a photoshoot to capture the memories of their first Makar Sankranti together.

Pooja Sawant and Siddhesh Chavan got married on February 28, 2023, in a grand ceremony. Siddhesh is settled in Australia, where he works for a finance company. After their wedding, Pooja and Siddhesh celebrated the festival of Gudi Padwa according to Marathi traditions in Australia. Now, their first Makar Sankranti celebration is becoming quite popular on social media.
