Hombale Films and Kleem Productions’ ambitious animated feature Mahavatar Narasimha is on the brink of rewriting box office history.
The mythological epic, which reimagines the iconic avatar of Lord Vishnu through cutting-edge animation, has grossed approximately Rs 280 crore worldwide in just 26 days of its release. Industry trackers suggest the film is set to cross the coveted Rs 300 crore mark in the coming days, making it the first Indian animated film to achieve this milestone.
Released on July 25, 2025, in five Indian languages and 3D formats, Mahavatar Narasimha has managed to draw audiences across age groups, combining mythological grandeur with rich visual storytelling.
Its success reflects a growing appetite for Indian animation on the big screen, a genre that has traditionally struggled to break into mainstream box office numbers.
The film is directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai under Kleem Productions, with presentation by Hombale Films.
The makers have also announced plans for an expansive animated franchise chronicling the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. Following Mahavatar Narasimha (2025), the slate includes Mahavatar Parshuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), Mahavatar Dwarkadhish (2031), Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033), and Mahavatar Kalki in two parts (2035, 2037).

With its near-₹300 crore haul, Mahavatar Narasimha is being hailed as a turning point for Indian animation. Trade experts believe it sets a new benchmark, not only for animated films but also for mythological storytelling in mainstream Indian cinema.
If its trajectory continues, the film could establish a strong foundation for a decade-long franchise, cementing Hombale Films and Kleem Productions as pioneers in blending cultural heritage with global cinematic appeal.
