Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt recently talked candidly about his brief appearance in the Thalapathy Vijay film Leo, expressing his disappointment without holding back. In an interview with the media, the actor, who was in Bengaluru for the teaser launch of his next Kannada movie, KD-The Devil, starring Dhruva Sarja, openly expressed his annoyance with director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Sanjay Dutt says, "Lokesh wasted me."
Sanjay Dutt spoke at the event and praised his experience working with Vijay, but he had harsh things to say about filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. "I thoroughly enjoyed working with Thalapathy Vijay. But I'm upset with Lokesh because he didn't give me a significant part. The KGF 2 star claimed, "He wasted me." Many of his fans, who anticipated a more substantial on-screen presence from the seasoned actor in Leo, are reflected in Dutt's remarks.
Appreciation of Tamil Film Legends
Sanjay Dutt was full of praise for Tamil film legends, even though he was disappointed with Leo. He called superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan inspirations and expressed his admiration for them.
"Kamal Sir and Rajini Sir are legendary. I hold them in high regard. He added that he has collaborated with Rajinikanth on a number of Hindi films and views him as "a truly humble person." "They are my seniors, and I continue to learn from them," he said.
Along with sharing his enthusiasm for upcoming Tamil films like Coolie and Kamal Haasan's Thug Life, the actor also disclosed his close friendship with Ajith Kumar.
A Brief Synopsis of Leo
The Hollywood movie A History of Violence served as a loose inspiration for the action-packed thriller Leo, which debuted in theaters on October 19, 2023. The film tells the tale of Parthiban (played by Vijay), a seemingly normal coffee shop owner whose life takes a dark turn after he gains notoriety for a self-defence incident.
Parthiban is compelled to face his enigmatic past as perilous adversaries surface who believe he is the notorious gangster Leo. In the movie, Sanjay Dutt portrayed Vijay's character's father, Antony Das.
In addition, the cast featured George Maryan, Madonna Sebastian, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun Sarja, and Trisha Krishnan. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the movie was a huge box office hit and is currently available on Netflix.

What's next for Sanjay Dutt ?
Sanjay Dutt is still a major star in South Indian cinema, even though his performance in Leo may not have been what he had hoped for. The actor is far from finished leaving his mark outside of Bollywood, given the buzz generated by KD: The Devil and his expanding list of partnerships with South filmmakers.
