Korean singer-actor Lee Jun Young is set to make his much-anticipated debut in the Japanese film industry with the heartwarming upcoming movie Tokyo Taxi. Known for his versatile talents, Lee has captured fans worldwide with his music and acting, and is now expanding his career into international cinema. Tokyo Taxi is slated for release in Japan on November 21, and Lee will be joining a stellar cast under the direction of acclaimed filmmaker Yoji Yamada.
The film marks the 91st directorial work of Yamada, a legend in Japanese cinema. Lee Jun Young plays a significant supporting role as the first love of the central character, Sumire Takano, portrayed by veteran actress Chieko Baisho. However, most of his scenes will be alongside actress Yu Aoi, bringing a deeper dimension to his character's arc.

Speaking about his experience, Lee shared, “Thanks to Director Yamada’s emotion-centered direction, I was able to immerse myself naturally in the character. Although the shoot was short, it was an incredibly intense experience. It was a great honor to work with such wonderful actors in my first Japanese film. I hope audiences will feel the warmth of humanity through this movie.”

With each stop Sumire requests, fragments of her life unfold, revealing a rich tapestry of love, loss, and memories. The journey turns into a poignant exploration of her past, deeply touching everyone involved.

Lee Jun Young’s Japanese debut not only highlights his growing international appeal but also sets the stage for a powerful performance in a film that promises warmth, nostalgia, and emotional depth. Fans are eagerly awaiting this touching cinematic journey when it hits Japanese theaters this November.
