Bollywood actress Lara Dutta is mourning the loss of her father, retired Wing Commander LK Dutta, who passed away at the age of 84.
Several videos circulating online show Lara, accompanied by her husband Mahesh Bhupathi, their daughter, and other close family members, attending the late commander’s last rites, all dressed in solemn white attire.
The family has yet to release an official statement, and the cause of LK Dutta’s passing remains undisclosed at this time.
Lara Dutta had recently taken to Instagram and shared series of photos from a family function on the occasion of her father's birthday which also coincided with the day she won Miss Universe 25 years ago.
The caption of her post read, “Yesterday was a day of roller coaster emotions….. the 12th of May…….. a significant day in my life! Not just my dad's birthday, but also the day I won Miss Universe 25 years ago!. Time certainly flies!!!” She continued, "Marked the day yesterday with a puja to celebrate my father’s life…… knowing full well how fleeting and fragile life is, it’s important to acknowledge and be grateful for the gifts the universe bestows upon us. Thank you for the love and for your companionship over the last 25 years!"
On the work front, Lara Dutta will be next seen in Welcome to the Jungle alongside Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Aftab Shivdasani among others in the star-studded cast.
