Shagun Sharma, one of the leads of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, has addressed the speculation that has been surrounding her personal life for months. The actress has now confirmed that she is in a relationship with her co-star Aman Gandhi, who plays her on-screen brother in the show. While their characters share a sibling bond in the daily soap, their off-screen equation is romantic.

The rumours first began when viewers noticed their chemistry and comfort off-camera. In an interview with Hautterfly, when Shagun was asked about the ongoing buzz, she did not dodge the question or call it mere gossip. Instead, she said, “Rumours thodi hai, sach hai woh toh,” clearly acknowledging the relationship. She further revealed that she and Aman were already dating before they signed the show.

Shagun explained that when she was called in to audition for the role of Pari in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, Aman had already been finalised to play Hritik. Before saying yes to the project, she asked him whether it would be awkward for them to portray siblings on screen while being romantically involved in real life. According to her, both felt secure in their relationship and confident about their professionalism, so they decided to go ahead.

Interestingly, no one on set knew about their relationship for the first two months of shooting. The couple kept things private until they felt settled in the cast and comfortable enough to share the news with their colleagues. Once they eventually opened up, the team took it positively.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 marks a return of the iconic daily soap universe created by Ektaa Kapoor, which originally starred Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay in the early 2000s. The new season retains the family drama tone but features an entirely new cast and storyline. The show premiered on July 29, 2025, and airs on Star Plus at 10:30 pm.
