Kim Soo Hyun demands swift, transparent probe into Kim Sae Ron dating controversy

South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has called for a proper and swift investigation into the ongoing dating controversy involving the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Through his legal representative, lawyer Ko Sang Rok, the actor expressed concern that the investigation had dragged on for months without a conclusion, causing further harm to his reputation.

Ko Sang Rok said that while the police claim to have completed a considerable part of the investigation, questions remain about whether it was carried out based on the core issues of the case. He pointed out that more than seven months had passed since the complaint was filed on March 20, yet there has been no resolution or sign of closure. He added that although there were no current plans to request a change in the investigation team, the prolonged delay was damaging from the victim’s point of view.

The lawyer also noted that the delay was leading to unnecessary speculation. He said it became unavoidable to disclose certain private details of the actor to correct the public’s distorted perception. As time passes without a clear outcome, rumors continue to spread and harm Kim Soo Hyun’s image further.

In response to the growing criticism about the investigation’s pace, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Commissioner Park Jeong Bo clarified that the case had initially been divided among multiple divisions, which caused the slowdown. He assured that the matter would now proceed with greater speed and that a significant portion of the investigation was already completed. He also confirmed that the existing team would continue handling the case.

The controversy erupted after allegations surfaced that Kim Soo Hyun had dated Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. The actor denied the claims, explaining that they dated for about a year, five years ago, when both were adults. He also clarified that he initially chose not to confirm the relationship publicly due to potential impact on his show Queen of Tears.

Since the controversy broke out, Kim Soo Hyun’s professional life has suffered heavily. Several projects have been put on hold, and multiple brand partnerships have been suspended as he continues to face intense public scrutiny.
