During a recent press conference, HoverLab and Kim Sae-ron's family allegedly played a voice recording in which the late actress admitted to dating actor Kim Soo Hyun in high school.
On multiple occasions, however, Kim Soo Hyun and his agency, GOLDMEDALIST, have strongly refuted this assertion. LKB & Partners Law Firm, Kim Soo Hyun's legal team, has strongly criticised the new revelations, claiming that the voice recordings are artificial intelligence (AI)-generated and fraudulent.
They also asserted that the individual who provided the recording is a scammer who has tried to trick GOLDMEDALIST in the past with another fake audio file that purportedly included flattering remarks about Kim Soo Hyun from Kim Sae-ron.
According to Soompi, the legal team issued a statement, saying, “During the press conference, HoverLab asserted that they had obtained an audio recording involving the late actress Kim Sae-ron. However, this audio file is entirely fabricated. GOLDMEDALIST has determined that the recording was created using AI or similar technology. "
The individual who provided this audio file to HoverLab is a fraudster who also approached GOLDMEDALIST, claiming to possess a recording in which the late Kim Sae-ron made statements favourable to actor Kim Soo Hyun. The audio file provider demanded money from GOLDMEDALIST and sent a portion of the recording, which was manipulated to imitate the late Kim Sae-ron’s voice.” it added.
The legal team also disclosed that the individual responsible for the phone recording had no real relationship to Kim Sae-ron and had attempted to take advantage of GOLDMEDALIST in the past by making false claims.
This person allegedly worked with HoverLab to release the misleading audio after failing to mislead the agency. The recording is presently being examined by experts, and when the review is finished, Kim Soo Hyun's legal team intends to make the findings public.

The legal team also denounced the press conference as yet another staged event organised by HoverLab, which is already dealing with legal problems involving stalking, defamation, cybercrimes, and evidence tampering.
They claimed that HoverLab was attempting to damage Kim Soo Hyun's reputation by using AI to fabricate evidence. The agency emphasised that all of HoverLab's earlier allegations were unfounded and declared that they would file a lawsuit against them right away for violating stalking and defamation laws.
