New information has come to light about actress Kim Sae Ron’s final months, following her tragic death on February 16, 2025. Reports now suggest that she borrowed large sums of money from several celebrity friends after her DUI incident in May 2022.

According to a May 23 report from SBS News, Kim Sae Ron posted a heartfelt message on her personal social media on September 8, 2024. This message, shared just months before her death, gives insight into her emotional and financial struggles.

The report states that three celebrities helped her financially. These included two K-pop idols and one well-known singer. Each of them is said to have lent her 100 million KRW (around \$74,000 USD). These loans reportedly came during a very difficult time in her life, after the DUI scandal affected both her reputation and income.

Two more people also supported her—one actor, known only as "A," and a singer-actor called "B." Both provided financial help. Another singer, referred to as "C," reportedly helped Kim twice: once in 2023 and again in May 2024, this time offering support to her family after her passing.

In addition to help from celebrities, Kim also borrowed 50 million KRW from a non-famous friend, identified as "D." Her agency at the time, Run Entertainment, contributed 60 million KRW to help pay for her medical expenses, including surgery and hospital stays.

Kim's emotional social media message has now gone public. It reportedly included the lines:

"If I'm dead, take a screenshot of this and make it public... These are the people who saved me. And to the people who left me when I was at my lowest—think about what you took from me."

She also claimed that her blood alcohol level at the time of her DUI was zero in the breath test and only high in a later blood test. She added that she had already compensated those affected by the incident.

Just ten minutes after the post, two acquaintances reportedly arrived at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

This message and the details about financial help reveal the deep struggles Kim faced. Her DUI incident not only hurt her public image but also seems to have left her in serious financial trouble. She turned to friends in the industry and outside it for help, showing how much she was struggling behind the scenes.

The new claims also come at a time when another celebrity, Kim Soo Hyun, is facing his own scandal, bringing more attention to Kim Sae Ron’s case.
