Kim Kardashian has recently bagged a big win after almost a decade following the 2016 gunpoint robbery. The reality TV star found relief after eight of the ten defendants on trial for charges related to the robbery were found guilty on Friday, May 23.
According to CNN, a six-member jury, led by three judges, in Paris has recently found the ringleader and seven others guilty, with two of the 10 defendants acquitted. The jury found eight individuals guilty, with two cleared of charges related to planning and executing the heist.
Aomar Ait Kedach, the alleged mastermind, was charged with armed robbery and kidnapping resulting in involuntary detention.
However, Kim has recently released a statement after the jury verdict, as per ABC. She said in her statement, “The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family.”
She added, “While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all.” She also noted that she was “deeply grateful to the French authorities” for pursuing justice, adding, “I remain committed to advocating for justice and promoting a fair legal system.”
The five accused, who are now famously dubbed as “grandpa robbers” due to their age, allegedly stole jewellery worth 6 million dollars at gunpoint. They are also accused of stealing Kim Kardashian’s infamous engagement ring from Kanye West. The officials managed to recover only one item, a diamond cross pendant.

Ten suspects went on trial in Paris for their alleged roles in the robbery, facing charges like armed robbery and kidnapping as part of an organised gang. Kim was in Paris for Fashion Week when the grandpa robbers tied her up and held her at gunpoint. At the time, the robbery was considered the biggest in France for more than 20 years.
However, Kim previously testified in the Paris court and admitted that she thought she would be raped and killed during the 2016 robbery. However, the reality star has recently reacted to the trial outcome and noted that she feels ‘grateful’ after the accused was convicted.
