Sheila Ki Jawaani, Chikni Chameli, Kamli, and many other famous dance numbers have made Katrina Kaif a household name.

Her stunning performance in the 2012 hit song Chikni Chameli from Agneepath remains one of her most recognisable on-screen roles. Although Katrina is renowned for her graceful and glamorous roles, her strong, exuberant moves in this item number stunned both reviewers and fans, making her one of Bollywood's most captivating actors.

Yasmin Karachiwala, a well-known fitness expert, recently spoke with Zoom about the rigorous demands of training actors like Katrina and the tremendous pressure they endure to maintain their physical appearance.

When asked about the experience of working with actors, Yasmin remarked, “It’s like working with anybody else; it’s just that they have more pressure on them. They have timelines that need to be met; they have goals that they need to achieve. They have to look a certain way in their movies and songs.”

Yasmin went on to highlight the unforgiving scrutiny actors face when it comes to their fitness. “Let’s face it, we are not kind to them. If Katrina had belly fat and she did ‘Chikni Chameli’, the media and the other trainers would be the first to point out and ask, ‘Who’s training her?’ We are so judgmental, and they need to be on their ‘A game’ all the time.”

She further explained how the media’s gaze never really lets up, even when actors are between projects or managing life changes. “Even now, if they are not doing a movie, they are either relaxing, or if they have just done a movie or just had a kid, they will be caught by the media, and everyone will comment on their fitness.” Yasmin also emphasised the ongoing nature of fitness for actors, saying, “The great thing about them (actors) is that fitness isn’t the final goal for them; it’s an ongoing process.”

Renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal performs the thrilling dance number "Chikni Chameli," which was written by the well-known duo Ajay-Atul.

This Hindi version of the well-known Marathi song "Kombdi Palali" combines catchy lyrics with rustic rhythms to produce an enticing beat.

Katrina's portrayal of a lively village belle who was taking part in a local festival was audacious and mesmerising, displaying a side of her dancing abilities that was distinct from her typical style.

"Chikni Chameli," which is more than just a dance song, was crucial to Agneepath's marketing success and created a lot of buzz before the movie's premiere. Years later, viewers still find Katrina Kaif's performance in "Chikni Chameli" to be a highlight of her career.
