Hollywood actress Kate Winslet revealed recently that she underwent testosterone replacement therapy to boost her sex-drive.
The Titanic actress shared in an interview that her libido significantly improved after undergoing testosterone replacement therapy, which typically involves small doses of estrogen as part of the treatment.
Talking about it on How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, she said, "Sometimes women have a real dip in libido because there might be stuff going on with their thyroid... There could also be stuff going on with your level of testosterone," she continued while offering advice on ways a listener could reignite their sexual desire with her long-term partner.
The 48-year-old actress further explained saying, "A lot of people don’t know this, but women have testosterone in their body, when it runs out – like eggs – it’s gone. And once it’s gone you have to replace it, and that is something that can be done and you’ll feel sexy again … I know."
The acclaimed star advised the listeners to consider checking her thyroid and testosterone levels, pointing out that hormonal imbalances can influence emotions and desire, particularly as one ages. She reassured her by saying that it’s not something to blame oneself for, as bodies can behave unpredictably, especially with age.
