Karan Johar stated that both Bala's tone and remarks had been misinterpreted on social media.

On Sunday, producer Karan Johar called on social media users to fully engage with interviews before jumping to "clickbait conclusions." His comments followed the viral spread of remarks made by Vasan Bala, the director of his latest production, "Jigra," during an interview.

Johar took to Instagram to clarify rumours of a feud between him and Bala, which arose after the producer sent a "roughly drafted" script of the film to lead actress Alia Bhatt without informing him. He stated that both Bala's tone and remarks had been misinterpreted on social media.

He shared a post which read, "We have to be strong to ensure our is stable enough to shut some negative people's mouth," accompanied with the caption, "Twitter became X and became my X a while ago… I broke up with the nauseous noise and muted the unwarranted angst … but social media is like the Loch ness monster it’s gets to you even when you can’t see it.. so was flooded with Vasan Bala’s interview which he answered with pure innocence and so much love … the grave misinterpretation of his comment about me sending the script to Alia without his grammar checks made me laugh initially at the ludicrousness of it all but now is truly annoying me …"

The producer emphasized that Bala remains one of his "most talented and wonderful" collaborators. "Vasan continues to be one of my most talented and wonderful collaborators and if you see his interview and hear his tone you will totally get it! BUT NO … much ado about nothing is all over the place…I fold my hands and tell everyone please hear and read entire interviews before making click bait assumptions! Loads of Love to all of you," Karan wrote.

In a recent interview, Bala mentioned that he had emailed a very "kaccha pakka" (roughly drafted) script to Johar. He recalled, "About six or seven hours later, he called to say, 'I've already sent it to Alia.' I wasn't pleased at all. I thought to myself, 'I could have at least done some spellcheck, grammar check, and polished it up with a proper hero entry.' So when that email was sent, I was wondering, 'Why did you do this?' Karan responded, 'No, no, this is how it works.'"

Bala, recognized for his work on "Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota" and "Monica, O My Darling," expressed his gratitude to Johar in the comments section of the post, writing, "Love you, Karan," accompanied by a heart emoji. "Jigra" follows the story of Satya (played by Bhatt), who goes to extreme lengths to free her brother Ankur (Vedang Raina) from jail. The film is set to premiere in theaters on October 11.
