Karan Johar breaks silence on feud with Kartik Aaryan, says "kabhi kabhi gile sikwe ho jate hain..."

Filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan are set to reunite for the romantic drama Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, directed by Sameer Vidwans, with Ananya Panday also starring. Scheduled for a Valentine's Day 2026 release, this collaboration is notable given their highly publicised past fallout, about which Karan Johar recently opened up to Bollywood Hungama.

Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan are all set to collaborate on the upcoming romantic drama Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which is currently under production, helmed by Satyaprem Ki Katha director Sameer Vidwans.

The film, also featuring Ananya Panday, is scheduled for a theatrical release around Valentine’s Day in 2026. This collaboration marks a significant moment, especially considering the duo’s past fallout, which had sparked much speculation in the industry.

In a recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Karan Johar opened up about reuniting with Kartik Aaryan after their much-talked-about differences.

Without delving into too many details, the filmmaker shared that the matter had been handled privately between them. “We internally discussed and worked it out, and we let bygones be bygones,” he stated, highlighting a renewed mutual respect and professionalism between them.

Praising Kartik’s dedication and talent, Karan described him as a “very hardworking actor” with a wide-reaching fanbase and strong box office presence.

He emphasised that the film industry, though often riddled with personal and creative disagreements, functions much like a close-knit family. “He and I met, decided to come together. It was all lovely and he's had I've had we all had our issues with each other, but it's a tiny industry, which I call a family, and I believe within a family, kabhi kabhi gile sikwe ho jate hain (sometimes complaints and misunderstandings happen), but at the end of the day, you know good people want to make good films and come together to create good content.”

Reflecting on his personal approach, Karan Johar added that he prefers to rise above minor squabbles, maintaining a focus on the bigger picture. “I have a larger vision,” he said, indicating his preference for collaboration over conflict.

Previously, Johar and Aaryan were working together on Dostana 2, alongside Janhvi Kapoor. However, the film faced an abrupt halt due to undisclosed reasons, fuelling rumours of a rift between the actor and Dharma Productions.

Eventually, Kartik exited the project, and it was officially announced that the studio would recast the leads. The reboot now stars Kill breakout star Lakshya and Vikrant Massey.

With Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, both Karan and Kartik appear ready to move forward, bringing their creative energies together for a fresh romantic narrative.
