Kantara : Chapter 1 was filmed in one of India’s largest studios in Kundapur, details inside

Set in the coastal town of Kundapur, Karnataka, the vast studio for Kantara: Chapter 1 provided the perfect backdrop for bringing the ancient Kadamba Empire to life.

The much-awaited film Kantara has made a massive impact on the Indian film industry, captivating audiences with its unique narrative and stunning visuals. Behind the mesmerizing scenes, however, lies an incredible production achievement—the creation of the grand sets for the Kadamba Empire in Kantara: Chapter 1. A source close to the production revealed that one of the biggest hurdles the team faced was finding a studio spacious enough to house the colossal sets needed for this historical epic.

“The makers were unable to find a studio large enough to build the massive sets of the Kadamba Empire, leading them to construct one of India’s biggest studios in Kundapur for Kantara : Chapter 1,” revealed the insider.

Recently, the makers of Kantara: Chapter 1 unveiled a new official poster along with the release date for the eagerly awaited prequel. Directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, Kantara: Chapter 1 serves as a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara and is slated for release on October 2, 2025.
