Kangana Ranaut, gearing up for her upcoming release Emergency, recently spoke outwardly about her hatred for Bollywood parties in a conversation with Raj Shamani.
She expressed her strong aversion to Bollywood parties, revealing that she finds them traumatizing. She candidly labelled Bollywood stars as "stupid" and "dumb," admitting that the conversations at these gatherings don't appeal to her at all.
During a podcast episode with Raj Shamani, Kangana said, “It is embarrassing, the talks they are having (at these parties).” Kangana went on to impersonate a few alleged actors in the industry who discuss their schedules, diets and dating rumours at Bollywood parties. “It’s trauma, a Bollywood party for me is like trauma."
She stated that she doesn't see herself as the kind of person who fits into Bollywood circles and is certain she can't be friends with people from the industry. She also remarked that their lives revolve around things like protein shakes.
She shared that she's familiar enough with the Bollywood lifestyle to understand it without needing an explanation. She described how, when not shooting, Bollywood celebrities follow a predictable routine of just sleeping and then waking up to go workout and then either sleeping or watching TV at night. Comparing them to grasshoppers, she remarked that they seemed completely blank and questioned how anyone could be friends with such people.
She pointed out that they seem clueless about what's happening in the world, lack meaningful conversations, and typically gather to drink and discuss superficial topics like clothes and accessories. She added that it would be a real surprise to find a Bollywood person capable of discussing anything beyond appearances or cars.
Kangana has consistently been outspoken and unfiltered in expressing her views on Bollywood.
Kangana was last seen in the film Tejas and will next appear in Emergency, where she will portray former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 6.
