Bollywood actor Kalki Koechlin has delivered several powerful performances over the years. However, the actress has recently reflected on an insulting experience she had encountered in the past.
In a recent interview with BBC World Service, Kalki Koechlin shared that once a producer had suggested she should get fillers to fill her laughter lines. She also revealed that she has no desire to change her appearance.
Kalki recalled the instance where a producer criticized his ex-girlfriend, who was a well-known actress, for overusing Botox. He ironically asked Kalki herself to consider getting fillers.
She recalled, “He was like, ‘All you need is a little filler for your laughter line.’ I wanted to stab him with my fork—we were having lunch. But I held myself back and said, ‘Well, I’d better stop smiling, laughing so much.’ So I think my approach has been to take it with a pinch of salt and have some humour about it.”
The actress also talked about how nowadays women feel pressured to look perfect because of social media and unrealistic beauty standards. However, Kalki also saw a good change, where more women are starting new careers after raising their kids.
She acknowledged it's tough to balance work, family, and taking care of aging parents, but felt hopeful seeing women in their 50s and 60s trying new things and starting fresh.
On the work front, Kalki Koechlin was last seen in the Tamil movie Nesippaya, released on January 14, 2025, where she played a supporting role as a lawyer. Prior to this, she starred in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, which also features Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Adarsh Gourav in the lead roles.
