Jurassic World Rebirth, the seventh chapter in the enduring Jurassic saga, continues to dominate the global box office with dinosaur-sized momentum. Despite receiving a lukewarm critical response, the film has roared past several major milestones, accumulating a massive \$659 million worldwide, as reported by Box Office Mojo. This impressive haul places it among the top five highest-grossing films of 2025 so far.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, Jurassic World Rebirth has struck a chord with audiences even as critics remain divided. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of just 51% from critics, the film has nonetheless garnered a 71% approval rating from audiences and holds a respectable 6.2/10 on IMDb. Clearly, the fan base for prehistoric action and spectacle remains as strong as ever.

What’s particularly remarkable is the film's current standing in comparison to some of the most recognizable superhero films. Jurassic World Rebirth is just inches away from outgrossing two major DC titles—Man of Steel (2013) and Justice League (2017). Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel earned approximately \$670 million globally, while the much-discussed Justice League collected about \$661 million. With Rebirth currently sitting at \$659 million, it needs merely \$2 million to surpass Justice League and \$11 million to edge past Man of Steel.

Given that the film is still running in theaters worldwide and showing no immediate signs of slowing down, it’s highly likely that it will outpace both Superman films in the coming days—if it hasn’t already by the time you’re reading this.

The film’s box office breakdown reveals a healthy split between domestic and international markets. It has earned \$286 million in North America and an additional \$373 million overseas. This global appeal underscores the franchise’s ability to captivate viewers across cultures and continents, even in its seventh installment.

Set five years after Jurassic World Dominion, Rebirth introduces a new storyline where the world’s few remaining dinosaurs are confined to remote equatorial zones. A high-stakes mission unfolds as a specialized team is dispatched to extract DNA from three colossal prehistoric creatures—spanning land, sea, and air—to engineer a groundbreaking pharmaceutical treatment.

Led by Scarlett Johansson, the cast also features Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein. Their performances, coupled with thrilling action sequences and visual effects, have helped keep the franchise fresh and exciting.

As Jurassic World Rebirth continues its theatrical run, all eyes are on its next target—surpassing not just superheroes, but box office history itself.
