The eagerly awaited sequel to the classic Jurassic franchise, Jurassic World Rebirth, debuted in Indian theatres on Friday.
The Gareth Edwards-directed and David Koepp-written movie has already started to set records, outperforming both Indian and foreign rivals at the domestic box office.
On its opening day, the film grossed an impressive Rs 9 crore across India, according to data from industry tracker Sacnilk.
This figure places Jurassic World Rebirth ahead of several Bollywood releases, including Maa starring Kajol, Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, and Anurag Basu’s ensemble drama Metro… In Dino. Additionally, it managed to outperform Brad Pitt’s F1-themed movie, which was also released recently.
With an overall occupancy of 28.87% and 26.53%, respectively, the movie has demonstrated strong occupancy among English-speaking audiences in both 3D and 2D formats. Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru had the highest attendance rates, while cities like Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru led the way in terms of the total number of screenings.
The movie has also been dubbed and released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi to appeal to a larger Indian audience. Its multilingual release approach seems to be effective, attracting viewers from a variety of linguistic and geographic backgrounds.
Jurassic World Rebirth has been nothing short of a global phenomenon. By Thursday, the movie had already made an incredible $104.6 million worldwide, according to Deadline. Of this, 70 foreign markets, including India, contributed $48.8 million. Interestingly, Friday's collections are not yet included in these numbers, indicating even higher totals in the days ahead.
The movie was a box office success in South Korea, Australia, France, and China, where it made $6.1 million on Friday alone.
Despite severe weather, Germany added $2.1 million, while the UK and Ireland reached $4.5 million. Record-breaking franchise openings occurred in Brazil and Chile, while Thailand, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, and Mexico also reported impressive results.

Early numbers and the excitement of the audience point to a prosperous future in India and around the world.
