Jungkook and IU crowned as the most favourite K-pop stars in global survey

BTS’s Jungkook and singer-actress IU have been named the world’s most favorite male and female K-pop stars in a new global survey. The survey was done by Arirang TV and reported by Munhwa Ilbo. K-pop fans from all over the world took part, and it showed how popular BTS, BLACKPINK, and IU truly are.

The survey took place from June 23 to July 7, 2025. It got responses from fans in 94 different countries. The results were announced on July 8. Kim Tae Jung, the president of Arirang TV, said that the goal was to see which K-pop stars were the most loved around the world.

In the male category, BTS member Jungkook came out on top with 12.7% of the votes. This is not surprising, as Jungkook is well-known for his talent, charm, and strong fanbase.

He is followed closely by his fellow BTS members. Jimin got 11.1% of the votes, RM had 6.9%, V got 6.5%, J-Hope had 6.0%, and Jin received 3.7%. SHINee’s Taemin also made it into the top seven with 4.9%, being the only non-BTS member on the list. BTS member SUGA was the only one from the group not to make the top seven.

In the female category, IU clearly led the way. She received 17.0% of the total votes, which was much higher than the others. Her success as both a singer and actress has made her loved by fans all over the world. Following her were BLACKPINK members: Rosé with 11.3%, Jennie and Lisa tied with 10.6% each, Jisoo with 5.1%, and aespa's Karina with 5.5%.

This survey shows the continued global power of BTS and BLACKPINK. It also proves IU’s strong influence not just in music, but also in television and acting. Fans everywhere continue to support these stars because of their hard work, talent, and charm.

Even though SUGA didn’t make the top seven, the fact that six BTS members did shows just how popular the group is. BLACKPINK’s members also had a strong showing, taking up four spots in the top six for female idols.

The results remind us how big the Korean Wave, or “Hallyu,” has become. K-pop stars like Jungkook, IU, and BLACKPINK are now global icons, loved by fans from every part of the world.
