Javed Akhtar receives Dostoevsky Star Award

Javed Akhtar, a well-known poet, lyricist, and public intellectual, has added yet another outstanding honour to his long list of achievements.

The Dostoevsky Star Award, a prestigious honour acknowledging Javed Akhtar's significant contribution to international literary heritage and cultural discourse, was given to him by the Russian House in June 2025.

The honour, which bears the name of the renowned Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky, honours those who have had a major influence on literature and philosophy.

His wife and veteran actress Shabana Azmi took to Instagram to share the good news. She captioned the post as, "Another big honour for #Javed Akhtar as he wins the Star Dostoyevski Award"
