Jaat box office collection day 1: Sunny Deol’s film opens at Rs 9.5 crore, falls way behind Gadar 2

Sunny Deol’s Jaat hit theatres with much buzz, but its Day 1 box office collection tells a different story. The film earned ₹9.5 crore on opening day — a decent figure, but nowhere near the explosive Rs 40 crore debut of Gadar 2 back in 2023.

Jaat box office collection day 1

Sunny Deol’s latest movie Jaat opened in cinemas but didn’t make the kind of big impact people expected. On its first day, the film collected Rs 9.5 crore, which is decent, but not close to the kind of numbers his earlier film Gadar 2 made. Gadar 2had a massive opening with Rs 40 crore on Day 1 back in 2023. This makes it clear that Jaat didn’t quite match the hype or audience expectations.

When compared to other big releases, Jaat also fell behind Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which made Rs 26 crore on its opening day. Though Sikandar was not appreciated for its story or acting and got negative reviews, it still managed to earn more than double of what Jaat earned on Day 1.

The performance of Jaat was better in cities like Jaipur and Chennai, and it had a 12.89% occupancy rate in Hindi shows, which is quite low for a big film. Sunny Deol was hoping that this movie would be another hit after Gadar 2, but it looks like Jaatdidn’t click the same way.

The movie is directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by People Media Factory and Mythri Movie Makers. Along with Sunny Deol, the film also stars Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. The storyline and performances were not praised by critics, and early reviews haven’t been too kind.

Even though the box office numbers are not great, the cast still believes in the power of audience connection. Randeep Hooda said that what really matters is how many people buy tickets and enjoy the film. According to him, love and respect from the audience is the biggest reward, not just critical reviews. Vineet Kumar Singh also agreed, saying that audience feedback means more than what critics say.
