Japanese pop sensation JO1 is officially making its way to India, marking a historic moment for both the group and their ever-expanding global fandom. The 11-member boy group, known for dominating Japanese charts and electrifying live shows, will be stepping foot in Mumbai for the very first time this week.

While the full group isn’t traveling together, Mame and Shosei, two of JO1’s most adored member, will be representing the team during this short but impactful trip.

The duo is expected to dive into Mumbai’s buzzing cultural scene, offering fans and media a rare chance to see J-Pop icons up close. Their schedule includes meetings with prominent figures from India’s entertainment and cultural sectors, a move that highlights JO1’s growing role as ambassadors of modern Japanese pop. They are also set to explore some of Mumbai’s iconic landmarks, including the Gateway of India and Marine Drive, soaking in the city’s mix of heritage and modernity.

Since forming in 2019 under Lapone Entertainment, JO1 has become one of Asia’s fastest-rising boy groups. Every CD they’ve released in Japan has topped the charts, cementing their commercial success. In 2025, they embarked on a world tour that spanned six countries, further fueling their global reach. Earlier this year, they pulled off two career-defining milestones: performing in front of 100,000 fans across two days at Tokyo Dome and later taking the stage at the iconic Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles.

For India, their debut visit is more than just a celebrity stopover—it’s a symbolic bridge between Japanese and Indian pop culture. With an already passionate Indian fan base awaiting them, the trip promises to spark new excitement and possibly set the stage for larger JO1 activities in South Asia.

As J-Pop continues to find its voice in the global arena, JO1’s Mumbai stop is a powerful reminder of how music transcends borders. Fans can expect a buzz of activity around their visit, as the group looks to deepen its connection with Indian audiences and leave behind memories as vibrant as the city itself.
