How old are Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur's children Samaira and Kian and what are they doing now

Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor’s two children, Samaira Kapoor and Kian Kapoor, have recently found themselves in the spotlight, not for a film debut or a red-carpet appearance, but because of a high-stakes legal battle over their late father Sunjay Kapur’s estate.

Shared A Deep Bond With Their Father

Though Samaira and Kian have mostly grown up away from the glare of paparazzi, they enjoyed a close bond with their father. Vacations, family dinners, and outings were common, and both children were deeply affected by Sunjay Kapur’s sudden passing in June 2025. For nearly a decade, they have been living with their mother, Karisma Kapoor, who has maintained a protective shield around them.

Samaira Carves Her Path Overseas

Samaira Kapoor, the elder sibling, turned 20 this year. Born on March 11, 2005, she has chosen academics over Bollywood glamour. She is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree at Tufts University in Massachusetts, USA, with a keen interest in international relations and business. From her profile and early choices, it appears she is determined to build her identity outside the film industry, focusing on education and possibly a career abroad.

What Is Kian Doing Now?

Her younger brother, Kian Kapoor, is 15 year-old and still in school in Mumbai. Born in 2010, Kian is described as shy and private, rarely seen in front of cameras. He is often spotted with his mother during family events but otherwise leads a low-key life away from the public eye. Unlike many star kids, he has shown no inclination so far toward films or social media attention.

Legal Battle Over Father’s Estate

Their quiet lives have now been disrupted by a bitter property dispute. After Sunjay Kapur’s death, Samaira and Kian moved the Delhi High Court, challenging a will dated March 21, 2024, which allegedly left everything to his wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur. The children are seeking a one-fifth share in their late father Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore fortune, which includes real estate, company shares, and other investments.

The court has directed Priya Kapur to submit a full inventory of Sunjay’s assets and fixed the next hearing for October 9. Representing the siblings, Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani argued that the will was suspicious, unregistered, and disclosed under questionable circumstances.

On the other hand, Priya’s counsel insisted the children were already beneficiaries of an existing trust and had recently received assets worth Rs 1,900 crore. Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, has also expressed concern, adding yet another layer to an already complex case.
