Tom Felton made his Broadway debut with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway. He reprised his iconic role of Draco Malfoy and received a great response from the audience.

On Tuesday, Tom Felton made his stage debut, and the audience erupted in cheers as soon as he stepped onto the stage. The actor was cheered on by the audience for a good thirty seconds after he said his first word back as the character, which was, appropriately, "Potter."

Felton left in tears as he received a standing ovation for his stellar performance.

Later, before leaving, the actor met his fans outside the theatre following his Broadway performance. His fans gathered outside the theatre for his autograph and cheered for him.

Tom Felton asked everyone to calm down and expressed gratitude for their love and support. He said, “I want to say thank you. Thank you so much for coming to my first Broadway performance.”

The actor added, “It means a lot to me to have you guys here to share the fun. I hope you guys enjoyed it.”

Meanwhile, the official Cursed Child account celebrated Tom Felton’s debut with a post on Instagram, writing, “It’s true then, what they’re saying on the train. Tom Felton has come to Broadway,” alongside a clip from the show.

Earlier this year, Felton expressed his excitement about returning to the wizarding world.

He said in the official statement, “Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play."

"It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes – and of course his iconic platinum blond hair – and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community," added the actor.

The Broadway performance kicked off on November 11 for a limited 19-week engagement. Felton will play Draco as an adult. He became the first actor from the original cast of the film series to join the stage play.

The Cursed Child is set 19 years after the events of JK Rowling's series and revolves around the children of Draco, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger (now adults) attending Hogwarts. The play opened on Broadway in 2018 and has been running successfully with a packed theatre.
