More than ten years after leaving One Direction, Zayn Malik seems to be reconnecting with the band — but not through music, at least for now.

Recent filings show that the Pillowtalk singer has been reinstated as a director of One Direction’s company, PPM Music Limited, hinting at renewed ties with his former bandmates following the tragic loss of Liam Payne, reports The Sun.

Documents submitted to Companies House on 3 November 2025 show Zayn as an Active Director of PPM Music Limited, the company the band created during their rise on The X Factor.

He is also listed as a Person with Significant Control (PSC), giving him considerable influence within the company. This is a reversal of his previous directorship, which ended on 20 June 2016, about a year after he left the band in 2015.

Zayn now shares the directorship with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan, all registered at the same London address through Lee & Thompson LLP, the law firm that has also managed Liam’s solo career.

A source close to the band told The Sun, “This is a huge moment. While heartbreaking, Liam's passing has brought them together, it's even more sad he was the biggest cheerleader of a reunion."

The source added, “PPM was the original company they set up when they appeared on the show. The name stands for Princess Park Manor, the private gated complex they were moved into when they won the show. Since Liam's passing the boys have been in contact.”

Liam Payne’s death last October at 31, after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina, appears to have been the emotional trigger behind this development.

One of the few times in recent years that all four of them were spotted together in public was when Zayn, Harry, Louis, and Niall got back together to pay their respects and attend Liam's funeral.
