YoonA, a beloved member of Girls' Generation (SNSD), made her much-anticipated debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, joining other prominent industry figures such as Han So Hee and Jung Hae In. While the event marked a significant milestone in her career, it was overshadowed by an incident involving a security personnel that drew widespread criticism and concern from fans and onlookers.

YoonA attended the sixth day of the prestigious festival, walking the red carpet for the screening of 'Horizon: An American Saga'. Clad in an elegant gown, YoonA captivated the audience with her grace and poise. However, as videos of her appearance circulated online, fans noted a troubling moment. During her photocall, a female security guard was seen rushing YoonA away, interrupting her time in the spotlight. Despite the abrupt behaviour, YoonA maintained her composure, continuing to smile for the cameras. However, her fans expressed outrage, perceiving the treatment as disrespectful towards the Korean star.

The controversy intensified when it emerged that the same security personnel had previously mistreated other celebrities. American singer and actress Kelly Rowland also experienced similar behaviour. In a widely circulated video, Rowland can be seen being hurried along by the same guard. Initially attempting to remain polite, Rowland's
demeanour shifted after the guard stepped on her dress and continued to act rudely, leading to a tense exchange.

Dominican actress Massiel Taveras, who attended the event on May 26, faced comparable issues. Taveras, wearing a dress with a long train featuring a portrait of Jesus Christ, was trying to display her outfit when she was repeatedly interrupted by the security guard. Despite Taveras' attempts to assert herself, the guard persisted, even physically touching her in an effort to move her along.

These incidents have sparked accusations of xenophobia and discrimination, particularly towards women of colour. Many netizens pointed out that other celebrities did not face such interruptions while taking photos in the same locations. The pattern of behaviour led to widespread condemnation of the security personnel's actions, with calls for greater respect and fairness in how all celebrities are treated at such high-profile events.
