Exclusive: Metro… In Dino’s Darshana Banik talks about sharing screen space with Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta, says ‘was no less than a dream come true’

Actress Darshana Banik was recently seen in Metro…In Dino and feels blessed to have got this opportunity to share screen space with actors like Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma and others.

She has earlier been seen in movies like Black and Dybbuk. In an exclusive conversation with Moneycontrol, she expressed how elated she was shooting with Anurag Basu, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher among others.

Shedding light on her experience shooting for Metro: In Dino, Darshana shared, “It was like a dream come true for me. I never imagined that I would get this opportunity. When initially I got a call I could not believe it. Then I met Anurag dada (Basu) and he narrated the film, I absolutely loved it. He is one of the finest personalities and I feel blessed to have worked with him. Also, sharing screen space with Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta was no less than a dream come true.”

Talking about sharing space with Neena Gupta, Darshana elaborated, “I was in awe of her and she made me feel really comfortable on the set. We used to share laughs too. For that matter, Anurag dada used to improvise on the set itself. The decisions on what the flow of the scene will be were taken on the set.”

Speaking about her bond with Pranay Pachauri, she averred, “I enjoyed working with him. He has become a friend now and we often discuss the film and how we should work together. Even Anurag dada appreciated his work and he is a nice and genuine person.”

Shedding light on her future projects, she stated “I have shot for Awasthi vs Awasthi which is directed by Pawan Wadeyar and I am also doing a movie with Vikram Bhatt which is a thriller.”

When asked if she prefers glamourous roles over meaty roles, she stated, “The child in me wants to do more glamourous roles however, I would also want to do meaty roles which offer me good growth as an artist.”
