Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has recently sent his fans into frenzy with a baffling social media post. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Hashmi channeling the romantic role for one more time. However, the actor’s latest post left fans guessing if it was a hint at the new project or the announcement of the re-release of his hit film, Awarapan.

Hashmi shared a video on his Instagram on Friday. The video appears to be from the world of his 2007 cult film Awarapan. The clip features the song Toh Phir Aao playing in the background. The actor shared the video with the caption, “Jumma Mubarak.” However, he also used the hashtag #Awarapan adding to the speculation.

The video features Hashmi's character cruising on a boat in a picturesque setting, and releasing pigeons from a cage, echoing a poignant scene from the film where Shriya Saran's character does the same. Additionally, a familiar dialogue from Awarapan plays in the background, where Hashmi's character expresses his willingness to sacrifice himself for a noble cause.

The post has sparked speculation among fans, with many wondering if Awarapan is getting a sequel or a re-release. Following the actor's video, fans flooded the comments section, expressing their excitement, with some eagerly anticipating a sequel and others hoping to revisit the film in theaters.

A social media user commented, “Awarapan 2 Button.” A second user anticipated, “Re release.” Meanwhile, a third user suggested, “Awarapan 2 happening.”

Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Awarapan was released in 2007. Alongside Hashmi and Shriya, the film also starred Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashish Vidyarthi.

The film was inspired by the South Korean film A Bittersweet Life and follows a gangster, Shivam Pandit, played by Hashmi. Shivam was ordered by his boss, Bharat Malik aka Ashutosh Rana, to watch over Reema, essayed by Mrinalini, Malik's secret Pakistani mistress. Shriya plays his lover, Aaliyah, who her father mistakenly shoots.
