Did Eijaz Khan try to convert ex-girlfriend Pavitra Punia? Spokesperson clairifies, 'Religion was never a factor in their relationship'

Eijaz Khan and Pavitra Punia, who fell in love during their stint on Bigg Boss 14, ended their relationship in 2023 after dating for a couple of years. Recently, Pavitra Punia made some remarks that led to speculations about Eijaz Khan asking her to convert her religion, alongside calling him a narcissist. Eijaz Khan has now responded to these allegations through a statement issued by his spokesperson.

The statement from Eijaz Khan's spokesperson addresses the recent comments made by Pavitra Punia and clarifies the actor's stance on the matter. The spokesperson emphasised that Eijaz Khan belongs to a diverse family with members from various religious backgrounds. He has always celebrated all festivals and respected all religions, which is evident from his social media presence.

The spokesperson explained, "Eijaz Khan comes from a family where there are people from all religions. The actor celebrates all festivals, and this is clear from his social media accounts. Such personal claims not only affect an actor's personal life but also lead to professional setbacks."

The spokesperson further mentioned that Eijaz's father has received calls from friends questioning if Eijaz had asked Pavitra to convert to Islam, which has caused hurt and confusion. "His father was very happy about Eijaz and Pavitra's relationship. Religion was never a factor in their relationship, but it has become an issue now that they have parted ways," the spokesperson added.

"In the interview, Pavitra clearly stated that religion was never a major reason for their breakup and that she had mentioned at the beginning of their relationship that she would not convert. Now, only the part about conversion is being used, and the rest has been omitted."

The spokesperson concluded by saying that Eijaz celebrated festivals like Diwali and Ganesh Chaturthi while living with Pavitra, and the current situation is having real-time repercussions. "People should realise the effect such claims have on the other party," the spokesperson added.
