Dhanush demands Rs 1 crore in legal battle against Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan: Report

The copyright dispute between Nayanthara and Dhanush has resurfaced, making headlines once again. According to the latest reports, Dhanush has now chosen to move forward with the legal proceedings against Nayanthara.

Nayanthara and Dhanush centred copyright case has come in the limelight again. As per latest reports, Dhanush has now decided to proceed with the legal case against Nayanthara.

Dhanush has chosen to move forward with the main legal suit against actress Nayanthara in the ongoing copyright dispute. Representing him, his production company, Wunderbar Films, has filed for damages amounting to Rs 1 crore from Nayanthara and the creators of the documentary.

Acccording to Pinkvilla, this development comes after the court denied a request for an interim injunction, as the documentary was released despite the case being sub judice.

The dispute arose when Nayanthara incorporated behind-the-scenes footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, a film produced by Dhanush, in her documentary without obtaining prior permission. Additionally, Dhanush has accused both Nayanthara and her husband, director Vignesh Shivan, of displaying unprofessional conduct during the film’s production.

The ongoing legal battle between Nayanthara and Dhanush has taken a public turn, with both sides openly addressing their grievances through social media. Over time, the conflict has escalated, with each issuing statements in response to the other.

After Dhanush initiated legal proceedings, Nayanthara defended herself by calling the lawsuit unfair and unjust. She took to Instagram to share an open letter, clarifying that she harbors no resentment toward Dhanush. Meanwhile, her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, responded with sarcasm, inviting audiences to watch the disputed three-minute footage for free.

Despite these public exchanges, the legal proceedings continue, with the main suit now officially moving forward. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for April 9, 2025.
