Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri starrer Dhadak 2's first poster have been unveiled today, May 26. Produced Karan Johar shared the first poster of the sequel featuring the fresh pair.
On Monday, Karan Johar unveiled the intense first look of Dhadak 2 on Instagram, hinting at a passionate love story laced with conflict and emotion.
he wrote in the caption, "To die or to fight? They chose to fight - #Dhadak2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, coming in cinemas near you only on 1st August 2025!"
The poster also revealed that Dhadak 2 is set to hit the theatres on August 1, 2025.
Two powerful images were used to reveal it- a close-up of Triptii Dimri embracing him with quiet intensity, and a fierce image of Siddhant Chaturvedi holding his love tightly as if protecting her from the outside world.
The film has been granted a U/A 16+ certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), following approximately 16 edits. Among the changes were the muting of caste-related slurs and the removal of references to 'Savarna'.
In its final review, the CBFC flagged multiple instances of potentially sensitive language in Dhadak 2. The board instructed the filmmakers to mute caste-based slurs like “chamar” and “bhangi,” suggesting the use of a more neutral term like “junglee” to prevent offense. Additional dialogue edits were also mandated to maintain cultural and religious neutrality. One such revision included altering the line “Dharam ka kaam hai” to “Punya ka kaam hai,” subtly shifting the focus from religious obligation to moral virtue.

However, the implementation of sixteen specific changes was necessary for the CBFC's approval. Modifying a dialogue that was allegedly interpreted as a political allusion was one of them.
Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is a stand-alone follow-up to the 2018 romantic drama Dhadak, which starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, who made their Bollywood debuts in the romantic drama.
