Many people have expressed their admiration for Hollywood actress Demi Moore after she was named People magazine's World's Most Beautiful Person. Moore, who is 62 years old, is among the oldest people to be honoured in this way, upending the conventional wisdom that beauty is only associated with youth.
The star appeared on the digital cover of People magazine on Wednesday to make the announcement. Moore discussed her own experiences with ageing, beauty, and self-acceptance in an interview with the magazine. This honour follows Moore's incredible year, which featured her triumphant comeback to the public eye with the movie The Substance. She received praise from critics and was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the role.
Moore shared, “It’s been like a full pregnancy - really joyous moments, exhausting moments. But overall, it was an extraordinary time and experience.” When discussing her relationship with her body, she added, “I have a greater appreciation for all that my body has been through that brought me to now.”
She admitted that, despite her acceptance of ageing, there are still moments when she struggles with her appearance. “It doesn’t mean that sometimes I look in the mirror and don’t go, ‘Oh God, I look old,’ or ‘Oh, my face is falling’ - I do. But I can accept that that’s where I’m at today, and I know the difference today is that it doesn’t define my value or who I am.”
Recalling her early years in Hollywood, Moore spoke candidly about the unrealistic beauty standards she faced. “I was really just punishing myself,” she confessed, referring to the extreme dieting and exercise regimens she once followed.

Today, Moore’s focus has shifted. “It's so much more about my overall health and well-being. It's much more about longevity and quality of life. And I think I've evolved into greater gentility towards myself,” she explained.
Moore's portrayal of a troubled woman navigating complex emotional terrain has garnered widespread praise for her performance in The Substance.
