Demi Moore recalls Tom Cruise feeling 'awkward' by her pregnancy while filming A Few Good Men: 'He was quite embarrassed'

Demi Moore co-starred with Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men. The actress now recalled a special time she had while filming.

During the preproduction phase of the film, Demi Moore revealed that she was almost eight months pregnant with her daughter, Scout Willis, and Tom was ‘embarrassed’.

In an interview with writer Jia Tolentino at the New Yorker Festival on October 25, 2025, Moore said, “I think Tom was quite embarrassed.”

She added, “I actually felt okay about it. I was moving around, though, right? But I could tell he felt that it was a bit awkward.”

According to the actress, Tom’s response probably reflected the customs of the time, when few Hollywood women were expecting while working on big-budget projects.

Demi was one of the few well-known actresses at the time juggling motherhood and a prominent career.

The actress continued, “It's one of the many things, for me, that I just felt didn't make sense. And so I challenged that to say, you know, ‘Why not? Why can't you have both?”

She went on to say that she put a lot of pressure on herself to demonstrate that women could have prosperous careers and raise families. Demi also acknowledged that while attempting to juggle her pregnancy and job, she turned into "an overachiever."

She also reflected on the challenges of rehearsing while heavily pregnant and noted, “I look back at that time now, and I go, ‘What the f*** was I thinking?’”

Shortly after giving birth, she also remembered blocking scenes and nursing. In contrast to the expectations she encountered in the early 1990s, the actress observed that Hollywood today offers a more encouraging atmosphere for mothers.
