One of Bollywood's most admired couples, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, are welcoming parenthood with a strong sense of privacy and purpose. The couple has made it a point to keep their daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, out of the spotlight ever since she was born on September 8, 2024.

The couple has been careful not to post any pictures of their infant daughter on social media because they want to give her a grounded upbringing.

Deepika discussed her plans for Dua's upbringing and how she plans to shield her from the stresses that frequently accompany celebrity ancestry in a candid interview with Marie Claire magazine. The actress disclosed that she has already created a "blueprint" of the experiences her daughter may have as she grows up.

The Kalki actress also talked about the conscious decision she and husband Ranveer Singh have made regarding their daughter’s privacy. The actress, known for maintaining a guarded personal life despite being in the public eye, shared that they do not intend to release any pictures of their baby girl in the near future.

"We weren't burdened with our parents' hopes and dreams,” Deepika reflected recalling her own upbringing, she added, “I don't ever remember my father sitting me down and saying, ‘Hey, I'm a professional badminton player and I'm a celebrity.’ I remember it being he was a father first and everything that we got to know of him was based on just our own curiosity and the fact that everything was just so normal. It was in fact only much later on in our lives where we found out that our father was a celebrity—when people approached him for autographs.”

Highlighting the delicate balance they wish to strike, Deepika stressed the need to preserve Dua’s innocence, especially considering her parents’ high-profile careers. “I don't know how much of this Ranveer is going to be okay with me saying,” she added, careful not to reveal too much.

In one of the interview’s most touching moments, Deepika shared how parenthood has transformed their lives: “You’ve always wanted something. And there it is in your hands… Every couple of days she'll be sleeping and Ranveer and I will look at her and then just look at each other and be like, we can't believe this has happened to us.”
